Chartwell House in Kent - the gardens of Churchill's home
Today is the 50th anniversary of the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill, the wartime Prime Minister. It seems an opportune moment to post up a video I made of the gardens of his house, Chartwell, in Kent. It was filmed in December 2011 but, sadly, the house at that time of the year is not open to the public.

Barcelona videos - Hotel Antibes
We stayed in the Hotel Antibes when in Barcelona last month. Reasonably close to the city centre, it is quite basic but was exactly what we wanted from a budget-priced hotel.

Back to the White Hart
My last full day in London on this trip was yesterday, New Year's Day, so we decided to go out for lunch. The White Hart in the Triangle was open so we decided to eat there. Again, another good meal. We had the salmon fish cakes. Definitely to be recommended.
Alas, my London trip is now over. I returned to my house in Gateshead today, thankfully without any problems on the train, unlike Saturday when I travelled south.
Celebrating New Year at A Torre
There is a superb Portuguese restaurant is the Triangle in Crystal Palace called A Torre and we decided to book it to welcome in the new year on Wednesday evening.
At £45 a head, this was not going to be cheap, but it was new year so an indulgence was allowed. Food was excellent. Service was very good. Music was mainly hits from the 80s and 90s. That took me back!
