We cheated. After coffee we decided to get a taxi to Montmartre rather than walk. We were dropped near La Maison Rose, a pink-painted bar and restaurant on Rue de L'Abreuvoir. I had had enough coffee so we had a bottle of wine instead.
We sat outside as the drizzle had gone. Buskers provided music. One earned a euro from us.
